Lima City tour

Our second time in Lima, However the first time with the Scenic Tours Group.

Near our hotel, Swissotel in San Isidro - an upper class / business neighbourhood just 2 blocks away is Huaca Huallamarca - also known as the sugarloaf. It is a fully restored ancient adobe pyramid dating from AD200 to 500.
The center was finally abandoned in 15th century and has a well preserved mummy.

The apartments in the background sell for $2,000 dollars per meter.

Next the city center the Spanish influence is everywhere
La Catedral dominates Plaza Mayor, the baroque-renaissance style has had refurbishments following earthquakes up to 1940.
We also visited the striking San Francisco complex of church, chapels, library and catacombs. Unfortunately no photography.

The highlight was The Museo Larco - a grand 18th century mansion that houses the largest private collection of pre-Colombian art and was assembled by the sugar baron, Rafael Larco Hoyle (1901-66).

I could write so much and will show more when time persists

These are the storerooms that has everything classifiedP
The exhibit ranges from 7000BC to the 16th century."
